Colgate has launched its toothpaste with new recyclable packaging to reduce the number of tubes thrown into the trash.
The packaging is made from high-density polyethylene and is the first to be recognized by external recycling authorities, the company said in a Feb. 17 news release.
Colgate is also using "Recycle Me!" graphics on the packaging to alert consumers and materials recovery facilities that the toothpaste tubes are recyclable.
The new packaging is a part of a pilot program to identify best practices for toothpaste tube recycling.
