Medical device company Align Technology has settled its patent infringement and antitrust litigation with dental supplier 3Shape.
The litigation between the two companies, which dates back to November 2017, included patent infringement claims filed in federal courts in the District of Delaware and the Eastern District of Texas, petitions to invalidate patents before the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board and an antitrust claim pending against Align in Delaware District Court.
Align Technology said in a Feb. 7 news release that the terms of the settlement are confidential and are not expected to affect its operations or finances. Following the settlement, Align will continue to accept scans from 3Shape Trios 2 and 3Shape Trios 3 intraoral scanners in certain areas outside the U.S.
