SmartPractice will acquire the Save-A-Tooth brand from Phoenix-Lazarus, the global health product manufacturer said Jan. 3.
Save-A-Tooth is a salt solution-filled container designed to save the root of a knocked-out tooth for 24 hours when placed inside. The product provides patients a greater chance of replantation to avoid needing dental implants.
"A missing tooth impacts the quality of life and creates long-term, costly oral health issues," said Curt Hamann, MD, CEO of SmartPractice. "By providing a wide selection of products, including Save-a-Tooth, our goal is to make it easier for a dentist to treat their patients, which supports our company's mission of improving world health."
Save-A-Tooth will continue to be available for purchase through healthcare, school and sports distributors, as well as on Amazon.
