Healthcare solutions company Henry Schein announced Reed Tuckson, MD, as the company's newest member of its board of directors, according to a May 17 press release.
Dr. Tuckson was most recently serving as the managing director of medical consulting company Tuckson Health Connections since 2014. He is also the founder of the Black Coalition Against COVID-19, which works to provide science-based information about COVID-19 vaccines to communities of color. In addition to serving as the commissioner of public health for Washington, D.C., Dr. Tuckson previously served in executive positions for UnitedHealth Group, the American Medical Association, the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, and the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation.
Dr. Tuckson is also a member of multiple advisory commissions and boards. He is on the board of directors for cancer pharmaceutical company CTI BioPharma Corp. and clinical-stage gene therapy company Adverum Biotechnologies. He is a board of trustees member at Washington, D.C.-based Howard University, an advisory board member for the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center and a member of several committees of the National Academy of Medicine.
