The National Association of Dental Laboratories recognized Redwood, Calif.-based Carbon, a 3D printing technology company, as the 2021 Supplier Member of the Year, according to an April 9 announcement.
Carbon offers a range of 3D printed applications to support dental labs' production of dentures and night guards, among other products. The company operates on a subscription model, providing dental lab customers with routine maintenance.
"Our dental lab customers avoid the historical approach of making large investments to purchase equipment that is obsolete within a few short years, said Todd Ames, Carbon's vice president of oral health. "We reimagined and solved this frustration with a subscription model so that our printers improve over time."
