Arizona legislators are currently considering a bill that would enter the state into the Dental and Dental Hygienist Compact.
The compact increases license portability across member states for dentists and hygienists, removing the need for dental professionals to gain a license in each individual state. There are 10 states currently in the compact, and 15 other states have pending legislation to join, according to data from The Council of State Governments.
House Bill 2190, which would enter the state into the compact, was introduced Jan. 21 and advanced by the House Health & Human Services Committee earlier this month.
