Delta Dental of Wisconsin pledged to provide funding to 14 technical colleges in Wisconsin to aid the expansion of dental workforce programs.
In January, Wisconsin lawmakers passed a bill allocating $20 million to technical colleges in the state to expand their dental programs. Delta Dental is matching up to $2 million of the state's funding for colleges' approved initiatives, according to a Sept. 11 news release.
In total, the colleges are creating nine new dental hygienist, dental assistant, dental therapy or expanded function dental assistant programs, as well as expanding and improving 13 existing programs.
Here are the colleges receiving funding, which Delta Dental will distribute throughout the summer:
- Blackhawk Technical College (Janesville, Wis.)
- Chippewa Valley Technical College (Eau Claire, Wis.)
- Fox Valley Technical College (Appleton, Wis.)
- Gateway Technical College (Kenosha, Wis.)
- Lakeshore Technical College (Cleveland, Wis.)
- Madison (Wis.) Area Technical College
- Mid-State Technical College (Marshfield, Wis.)
- Milwaukee (Wis.) Area Technical College
- Northcentral Technical College (Wausau, Wis.)
- Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (Green Bay)
- Northwood Technical College (Rice Lake, Wis.)
- Southwest Wisconsin Technical College (Fennimore)
- Waukesha County Technical College (Pewaukee, Wis.)
- Western Technical College (La Crosse, Wis.)
