The American Dental Association expressed its support for the A Stronger Workforce for America Act, which aims to boost workforce development and training programs for dental hygienists and dental assistants.
The legislation would offer individual training accounts, improve community college programs for hygienists and assistants and give states more flexibility to create workforce programs, according to an April 24 news release from the ADA.
The bill provides an update to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, which led to the creation of workforce and development programs.
The legislation was passed in the House earlier this month; the Senate has yet to consider the bill, the release said.
