The Colorado House Health and Human Services Committee passed legislation to have the state join the dentist and dental hygienist interstate compact.
The compact makes it easier for licensed dentists and dental hygienists to practice across multiple states without needing a license for each individual state, according to an April 9 news release.
Once seven states have joined, the compact will become active. Currently, a total of five states have joined, with Virginia being the most recent..
In addition to Colorado, more than 10 other states have introduced legislation to join the compact.
Senate Bill 24-010 passed the committee by a vote of 12 to 0, the release said.
