Approximately two-thirds of dental practices feel they have an adequate number of dental hygienists and dental assistants on staff, according to a survey from the American Dental Association's Health Policy Institute.
The ADA's monthly "Economic Outlook and Emerging Issues in Dentistry" asked respondents whether they felt that their practice had enough dental hygienists, dental assistants and administrative staff.
Here is how the 1,011 respondents answered:
Dental hygienists: 62.2% said they have an adequate amount
Dental assistants: 67.8% said they have an adequate amount
Other office/administrative staff: 76.4% said they have an adequate amount
