North Carolina has the highest ranked workforce, according to CNBC's top states for business rankings, published July 17.
The rankings were calculated based on each state's concentration of STEM workers; percentage of workers with a college degree, associate degrees and industry-recognized certificates; net migration of educated workers; worker training programs; right-to-work laws; and worker productivity.
