U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Roger Wicker reintroduced the Dental Loan Repayment Assistance Act to Congress June 22.

- The Dental Loan Repayment Assistance Act would eliminate certain loan assistance benefits from counting as taxable income, according to a June 22 news release.
- The bill aims to increase the number of dental and dental hygiene faculty in the workforce by helping training programs attract and retain faculty through loan forgiveness.
- The bill is supported by several dental organizations, including the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the American Student Dental Association and the Hispanic Dental Association.
