The American Dental Association submitted comments on the proposed Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters for 2026, according to a Nov. 15 news release from the ADA.
Here are five notes for dental professionals:
1. The new proposed regulations to the Affordable Care Act would apply to insurance markets beginning in 2026.
2. There are no significant changes to the dental market in the proposed 2026 ACA Regulations, but the ADA reaffirmed its current policies and positions.
3. The ADA asked CMS to allow for higher advance premium tax credits on silver-level plans to have the ability to be applied toward adult and pediatric dental care.
4. The organization also pushed for CMS to permit leftover advance premium tax credits for silver-level plans to be directed to adult stand-alone dental plan premiums.
5. The ADA suggested that CMS revisit how dental services apply regarding medical loss ratios in the ACA to ensure premiums are being directed toward dental care.
