7 dental Medicaid updates in 3 weeks

Here are seven updates on Medicaid in dentistry that Becker's has reported on since Sept. 13:

1. The "Live Healthy" legislative package in Florida went into effect Oct. 1, which allocates more than $30 million to raise Medicaid reimbursements for dentists.

2. Put People First! PA held a rally calling on legislators to restore adult dental benefits under Medicaid.

3. The Biden-Harris administration released guidance for coverage requirements in place for children and youth under Medicaid and CHIP. 

4. Members of the Louisiana House Joint Budget Committee scrutinized the Department of Health over insufficient dental insurance coverage at a hearing.

5. The California Department of Health Care Services selected Health Net Community Solutions to provide managed dental healthcare services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Los Angeles and Sacramento counties.

6. The widening gap between Medicaid reimbursement rates and the real cost of providing dental care in North Carolina reached its boiling point.

7. Lawmakers in Pennsylvania are continuing efforts to restore the state's adult Medicaid services after they were eliminated over a decade ago.
