Dental Medicaid reimbursement increase goes into effect in Florida: 4 notes

The "Live Healthy" legislative package in Florida went into effect Oct. 1, which allocates more than $30 million to raise Medicaid reimbursements for dentists, according to an Oct. 1 news release. 

Here are four things to know about the package:

1. Florida lawmakers approved more than $700 million to support the healthcare industry in the state in the bill package. 

2. The bill allocates $34.8 million to improve reimbursements for dentists that are part of the Medicaid program. 

3. It also aids dentists with student loan repayments.

4. According to KFF, Medicaid dental providers in Florida have not seen a rate increase since 2012.
