Michigan and New Hampshire have recently expanded their state's dental benefits for adult Medicaid beneficiaries.
Michigan
Michigan expanded dental benefits for adult Medicaid beneficiaries and increased reimbursement rates for dental providers. The state invested $85.1 million in reimbursement increases and $30 million in the redesigned benefits. The enhanced services went into effect April 1, and the reimbursement increases were added Jan. 1. Providers are now being paid at 100 percent of the Average Commercial Rate.
New Hampshire
Dental coverage for adults on Medicaid in New Hampshire have been expanded through the New Hampshire Smiles Adult Program, effective April 1. Adults older than 21 on the state's Medicaid program are automatically eligible for the additional benefits.
