The Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation and the Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation have partnered up to establish a $4 million grant aimed at improving the oral health of children impacted by COVID-19.
Delta and the children's foundation will each provide $2 million to fund The COVID-19 Utilization: Decreasing Oral Health Disparities Health Equity Grant Program. The initiative will provide grants of up to $200,000 to organizations working in communities where children may not have access to quality oral healthcare due to systemic health and social inequities.
To qualify, organizations must address disparities related to dental care access, school curricula, community education, social stigma and the importance of oral health. Grants can be applied toward multiple areas, including salaries and benefits, marketing, data collection and analysis, and training.
The Illinois Children's Healthcare Foundation is based in Oak Brook and works to support initiatives that improve the health and well-being of children in the state.
