Dentists receive recognition for providing free oral care to Holocaust survivors: 3 key notes

Melville, N.Y.-based Henry Schein and the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity are honoring AO's Washington, D.C. chapter for its Alpha Omega-Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program participation.

Here's what you need to know.

1. The program launched in November 2014 to provide Holocaust survivors free dental care.

2. To date, more than 500 benefited from the program.

3. The Unite States has approximately 120,000 Holocaust survivors and nearly a quarter live in poverty. The joint program operates in several cities including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York City and Columbus, Ohio.
