Oakland, Calif.-based Asian Health Services received $1 million to construct a dental clinic for low-income Alamedia County (Calif.) residents, according to The Mercury News.
Here are four notes:
1. The clinic will be 4,000 square feet.
2. Asian Health Services is building the clinic on the first floor of a building with 71 affordable housing units.
3. Asian Health Services' officials said the clinic is the first in the state to combine behavioral screening, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery and pediatric dentistry.
4. Through the clinic, officials aim to help people with language, socioeconomic and cultural barriers obtain access to dental care.
