Here are nine dentists making the news this week.
National Consumer Advisory Board's "America's Best Dentists" registry for 2016 named Tamara Levit, DDS, to the list. Dr. Levin is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and International Congress of Dental Implantologists.
The Northern Nevada Development Authority recognized Cary Jaques, DDS, for his community involvement. Dr. Jaques received the Pioneer Award for expanding care to in-need community members.
Raj Khanna, DMD, will serve as chairman of Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine's new dentistry department. Dr. Khanna is a professor as well as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, according to Charleston Gazette-Mail.
Luke MacMenamin, DDS; Amy Ott, DDS; Brian Whisler, DDS; Aaron Wachlarowicz, DDS; and Ben Fravel, DDS, provided free dental care for Dominican Republic residents. The Minnesota dentists served more than 120 children and 40 adults during their mission trip, according to Stillwater Gazette.

On May 15, Ashley Nichols, DDS, will serve uninsured children along with other Kool Smiles' staff members. Dr. Nichols is the managing dental director at Kool Smiles, according to GoDanRiver.
