In collaboration with Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, Henry Schein recognized 28 Chicago dental professionals for providing free dental services to Holocaust survivors in need through the Alpha Omega-Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program.
Here are five things to know:
1. AO launched the program in November 2014 after the White House implored people to help Holocaust survivors.
2. The Alpha Omega-Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program has served more than 140 Holocaust survivors since its inception.
3. Henry Schein and AO honored the dental professionals at the Renaissance Chicago North Shore Hotel.
4. Of the 120,000 Holocaust survivors in the United States, nearly 25 percent live in poverty, and many survivors have specific oral health needs after suffering nutritional deprivation and no dental care during WWII.
