WellPartners Dental and Eye Health opens clinic to serve underserved, uninsured: 4 takeaways

Columbia, S.C.-based WellPartners Dental and Eye Health is offering free dental as well as eye services for underserved and uninsured residents, according to WLTX 19.

Here are four takeaways:

1. The practice is offering patients full mouth examinations, cleanings, fillings and extractions.

2. The clinic is an expansion of the practice's Richland County clinic that has offered free care for over 50 years.

3. Eligible adults can't have dental insurance and must have a valid Fairfield, Lexington, Richland or Sumter County ID. Adult must also be 200 percent of federal poverty level.

4. Eligibility requirements for children include:
•    Ages five to 18
•    Enrolled in public school
•    Enrolled in free or reduced lunch program
•    Not eligible for Medicaid or any other type of insurance
•    Are referred by a school nurse
