Florida's state Senate approved a bill in an eight to one vote that may remove dental services from the Medicaid managed-care plans, according to CBS Miami.

2. Under the bill, Florida's agency for Health Care Administration would be required to submit a report to the Legislature by Dec. 1 that would examine issues including the effectiveness of managed-care plans in providing dental services.
3. During the 2017 legislative session, the Legislature would decide whether to maintain the current dental system or use an alternative.
4. The AHCA will be directed to a new system that would use other dental-plan providers if the Legislature fails to act by July 1, 2017.
