Henry Schein to donate $250k to America's Dentists Care Foundation — 5 notes

Henry Schein committed to donate e $250,000 in healthcare products over the next two years to the America's Dentists Care Foundation.

Here are five notes:

1. ADCF will use the donation for it 50 dental Mission of Mercy clinics, which provide underserved U.S. residents free dental care.

2. Henry Schein agreed to donate healthcare product kits valued at $5,000 each.

3. The kit is comprised of exam gloves, surgical face masks, gowns and medical gauze.

4. The 50 MOM events will take place in 2016 and 2017. Volunteer dentists and dental hygienists will administer dental exams, x-rays, fillings, extractions and proper oral hygiene education.

5. A two-day MOM event, on average, serves 1,600 patients.

"Given the integral connection between good oral health and overall health, access to proper dental care is an essential component of community wellness," said Stanley M. Bergman, chairman of the board and CEO, Henry Schein. "Despite its importance, access to oral care is limited or nonexistent for many underserved populations. We applaud Mission of Mercy for providing immediate treatment to people in need, and for raising community awareness of the critical importance of oral care.
