Through GoServ Global, two teams from Clear Lake, Iowa-based Lake Dental Associates underwent a mission trip at a dental clinic in Les Cayes, Haiti, according to Pilot Tribune.
Here are five takeaways:
1. In Haiti, there are only three dentists for every 100,000 people.
2. GoServ Global, in collaboration with Zion Lutheran Church of Clear Lake, built a clinic that has three treatment rooms, a sterilization area and modern equipment such as a digital X-ray.
3. Various Lake Dental dentists including Tom Bieber, DDS, and Jason Skinner, DDS, provided much needed care to Haitians.
4. GoServ Global began after Haiti encountered a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in 2010.
5. The organization now serves three orphanages, a medical clinic, a school, two churches, eight wells, almost 150 Safe T Homes and James 1:27 Widows & Infants Village.
