Health Care for the Homeless' big plans to expand clinic — 4 observations

By next year, Health Care for the Homeless plans to double the capacity of its dental clinic using a $534,000 grant, according to Baltimore Business Journal.

Here are four observations:

1. The Health Resources and Services Administration granted the nonprofit organization the two-year grant to expand its clinic.

2. Health Care for the Homeless' CEO, Kevin Lindamood, projects the clinic will see 1,200 patients in 2015.

3. Maryland Medicaid plans do not cover adult dental care leading the clinic to rely on grants and donations from dental organizations.

4. The clinic will use the grant to hire a second dentist, a dental assistant and extend its hours. The grant will enable the clinic to provide care for twice as many patients.
