The Academy of Osseointegration is now accepting applications for the 2016-2017 Osseointegration Foundation Research.
Here are five notes:
1. Dental professionals may be eligible for up to $30,000 in research grants for dental implant research.
2. The AO is seeking applicants who will work to improve the public acceptance of implants.
3. First-place grants worth up to $30,000 each will be given to research teams in the categories of Basic Science and Applied Science. Basic Science consists of research to advance implant knowledge that does not include human subjects. Applied Science does include human subjects.
4. An additional $15,000 each will be awarded to the second-place recipients in the same categories.
5. All submissions are due by Nov. 30, 2015 and research grant proposals must be submitted by an AO member, faculty member of student who conducts research in an academic dental institution. One member must be an AO member to qualify.
