3M is removing the crown indication for their Lava Ultimate CAD/CAM Restorative product. According to a company release, the crowns are debonding at a "higher-than-expected."
Here are three quick points:
1. The company said the product is not to be used for crowns.
2. According to a statement, the product is still indicated for inlays, onlays (with an internal retentive design element) and veneer restoratives.
3. 3M sent letters to dental offices and laboratories offering a refund for returned unused blocks/frames, said the ADA.
