Ted Greenlee, DDS, and James Chapko, DDS, launched Schaumburg, Ill.-based ImplantWide, a teaching implant surgicenter for dentists, with the concept to deliver fully integrated dental implant services to patients. According to a release, the new center will address six roadblocks facing dentists who want to integrate comprehensive implant services.
The six roadblocks are:
1. The cost and difficulty of dental implant continuing education.
2. The cost of implant equipment.
3. Knowledge of how to select the best implant system for a case.
4. The cost of maintaining an implant inventory.
5. The cost of purchasing or leasing a cone beam x-ray unit.
6. The fear of what to do if you get into trouble during a case.
Drs. Greenle and Chapko's center is fine-tuned to address the above concerns, through having a center that is fully equipped with technology and resources, according to the release.
"It is now obvious that comprehensive implant treatment must be a part of any quality restorative dental practice. Yet, only a small percentage of general dentists currently place dental implants. With so many, especially younger, dentists with heavy debt loads struggling to fill their schedule, that's a shame," said Dr. Greenlee, DDS.
