7 dentists making headlines — May 11, 2015

Here are seven dentists making headlines for the week of May 11, 2015:

Joseph Orlando, DDS, of Claremont Dental Group in Florida was featured in Click Orlando for working with patients to inform them of treatment pricing before procedures.

Michael Gulizio, DDS and Steven Cordoves, DDS, of Core Smiles in New York City spoke with CNBC about the technology they use, such as the Cerec 3-D printing system by Sirona and a handheld GLO tooth-whitening device. The article focused also on the creative ways the two dentists fit all their tools into a 590-square-foot space.

Douglas B. Torbush, DDS, of Conyers, Ga., received the 2015 Emory Dental Alumni John McNamara Meritorious Service Award, according to Rockdale Citizen.

Albert Repicci, DDS, a retired dentist from Greenwich, Conn., has seen an early moon launch, met the Pope, attended President John F. Kennedy's funeral and watched President Bill Clinton's impeachment hearings inside the Capital. His life experiences were chronicled in Greenwich Time article.

Mark Lisagor, DDS, of Camarillo, Calif., was in Kathmandu, Nepal on a trip with Global Dental Relief during the Nepal earthquake and recalled just escaping the 7.8 magnitude quake in an article with Pacific Coast Business Times.

Mark Niemiec, DDS, of Taos, N.M., rented out two showings for an opening day screening of "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," for his patients as a sign of appreciation and to meet their family and friends. According to Taos News, Dr. Niemiec and his wife regularly host Movie Nights.
