Here are seven dentists making headlines this past week:

 

 

Scott Asnis, DDS, founder and CEO of Dental365, recently changed his name office name from Clear Choice Dental Group, which will also be moving to a new location in Levittown, N.Y.

 

Michael Smith, DMD, of Belleville, Ill., has been named as the next dental officer for the Illinois Army National Guard Dental Corps.

Local dentists in Hinesville, Ga., including Tad Jackson, DMD, fear they will lose their military clients after the government announced they will open a family practice on post, according to WTOC.

Matthew West, DMD, and Mandie Smith, DDS, of SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, have each received the Academy of General Dentistry Fellowship Award, according to a Juneau Empire article.

J. Brett Mangum DDS, of Mangum Dental in Prescott, Ariz., also has earned fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Amanda Oestreich, DDS, spoke with KIMT about how medications that produce dry mouth can lead to cavities.
