1. Todd Shatkin, DDS, of Buffalo, N.Y.-based Aesthetic Associates Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry, earned American Academy of Hospitality Science's Five Star Diamond Award for his work in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, reports The Buffalo News.
2. J. Ronald Bennett, DMD, of Augusta, Ga., who has been a paraplegic since a car accident 19 years ago, spoke with The Augusta Chronicle about the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, his philosophies on life and how he was inspired to go to dental school.
3. Gene Duffin, DDS, of Hemet, Calif., recently turned 90, still sees patients three days a week and is booked into July, reports The Press Enterprise.
4. Phillip R. Devore, DDS, of the University Of Las Vegas School Of Dental Medicine, was featured in the Las Vegas Sun for teaching students not just dentistry, but educating them on topics such as bedside manner and patient communication.
5. Amanda Meade, DDS, will join Piedmont Virginia Dental Health's Community Dental Clinic as a full-time dentist.
6. Adam Moore, DDS, and his Garner, N.C.-based family practice, is offering a scholarship for dental hygienists and assistants, offering $500 to each program.
