Raymond Cohlmia, DDS, has resigned as executive director of the American Dental Association, effective immediately.
Dr. Cohlmia has served as the ADA's executive director since November 2021, according to a Feb. 8 news release from the association.
In the role, Dr. Cohlmia oversaw the development of a new business plan for the ADA, the integration of the Forsyth Institute and the expansion of new relationships for the organization.
The ADA Board of Trustees named Elizabeth Shapiro, DDS, as interim executive director. Dr. Shapiro had been serving as ADA chief of governance and strategy, the release said.
