Succeeding Mr. Castro will be the current president of Delta Dental of California, Sarah Chavarria, effective Jan. 1, 2024, according to a July 31 news release.
Mr. Castro has served as CEO since 2019 and has been with the company for 20 years, including 14 years as CFO.
Ms. Chavarria started at the company as chief people officer and as president also led the operations, technology, people, growth, marketing and communications divisions. She has served as president since 2022, the release said.
