Two veteran dental leaders recently announced their retirements.
What to know:
1. Howard Howell, DDS, a professor of periodontology and interim department chair, is retiring from Boston-based Harvard School of Dental Medicine after serving the school for more than 45 years. The school is naming the Lash-Williams-Howell-Stevens Fellowship scholarship after Dr. Howell in honor of his retirement and contributions to the school.
2. William Lobb, DDS, dean of Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, will retire June 30 after serving the school for nearly 30 years. Dr. Lobb is the longest-serving dental school dean in the country. The university will begin searching for its next dental school dean in the coming weeks.
