George Shepley, DDS, was installed as the 159th president of the American Dental Association Oct. 18.
Dr. Shepley was installed at the ADA house of delegates meeting in Houston, along with other new and returning officers of the ADA.
Dr. Shepley is from Baltimore and a past president of the Maryland State Dental Association. His previous positions within the ADA include president-elect, 4th district trustee, alternate or delegate to the house of delegates, chair of the council on communications, chair of the budget and finance committee and chair of the committee on annual meetings.
During his installment speech, Dr. Shepley called on the ADA to act in three areas: as champions of optimal health; as individual educators and collective advocates; and in embracing cultural changes in business and community.
