Dentsply Sirona recently announced that Walter Petersohn will step down from his position as senior vice president and chief commercial officer.
Mr. Petersohn will depart from the company Sept. 30. Until that date, he will remain an inactive employee but is expected to be available for executive transition requests. He and the company mutually agreed on the departure, according to a Sept. 2 notice filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The move comes as the dental supplier deals with an ongoing internal investigation into financial reporting matters submitted by current and former employees of the company. There have been several leadership changes since the investigation began earlier this year, including Simon Campion being appointed president and CEO, Barbara Bodem joining as CFO and Richard Wagner as chief accounting officer.
Eric Brandt, chair of the company's board, said in an Aug. 25 news release that the company is preparing to complete its internal audit.
