New Jersey launching program to expand dental care access: 5 things to know

The Hunterdon County Department of Health in New Jersey is launching a new dental access program for underserved populations, according to a Feb. 21 news release Hunterdon County. 

Here are five things to know:

1. The Dental Access Program will expand access to dental services for underserved populations including children, disabled individuals, seniors and veterans.

2. Residents of Hunterdon County will be able to receive free and low cost dental care through June 30, 2027. 

3. The county health department will partner with dentists to provide dental care to residents. 

4. The fee reimbursement schedule for dentists participating in the program was created based on research into dental insurance providers and dental professionals. 

5. Delta Dental provided a grant to fund the program.
