Dental365, Heartland Dental and Dental Care Alliance have worked to push the boundaries of what's possible in dentistry by adding innovative technologies to their networks.
Here is how each DSO has expanded their technology use to improve patient care:
Dental365 (New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Dental365 has been a large advocate for salivary diagnostics for several years. The DSO currently uses SalivaScore, a patented oral biomarker test used to detect tissue breakdown and destruction around teeth and implants. With the use of this technology, Dental365 has also begun to train its providers to be oral physicians.
Dental365 Founder and CEO Scott Asnis, DDS, has previously referred to salivary diagnostics as the "future of dentistry."
Heartland Dental (Effingham, Ill.)
Heartland Dental and VideaHealth completed the largest dental artificial intelligence rollout in history this year after the DSO added VideaHealth's technology to its network of more than 1,700 practices.
Tim Quirt, DDS, senior vice president of clinical operations for Heartland Dental, told Becker's the new technology has helped improve patient education and treatment acceptance.
Dental Care Alliance (Sarasota, Fla.)
Earlier this year, Dental Care Alliance became the first large-scale DSO to add guided biofilm therapy to its network. The DSO partnered with EMS Dental, a manufacturer of GBT devices, to launch the service at its practices.
EMS Dental says guided biofilm therapy is a minimally invasive solution that provides the highest level of comfort, safety and efficiency for patients.
