Steven Bilt, CEO of Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Smile Brands, received the 2024 Service Award from the Association of Dental Support Organizations.
The recognition is awarded to individuals in the DSO space who show exceptional service, corporate and social responsibility or contributions to society in the past year, according to a June 13 news release.
Mr. Bilt founded the Smiles for Everyone Foundation and currently serves as chairman of the board. Since its founding in 2011, the organization has cared for nearly 120,000 patients and provided $85 million in free dental care during its dental missions.
The foundation launched a new partnership outpost in The Philippines in 2023. The initiative also provides care to low-income individuals in Ghana, Thailand, Laos, Paraguay, Nicaragua, Mexico, and the U.S.
Smile Brands is one of the largest DSOs in the U.S., supporting more than 80 total brands, the release said.
