Chicago-based Aspen Dental is staying committed to providing opportunities and empowering dentists, clinicians and other dental staff.
To further back up their commitment, the DSO launched a marketing campaign that celebrates its clinician-focused investments earlier this year. You 1st is an integrated recruiting campaign, highlighted by Aspen's $25 million investment into training facilities over the past 25 years.
Arwinder Judge, DDS, chief clinical officer for Aspen Dental, recently connected with Becker's, touching on the continued importance that the organization places on supporting its dentists.
"Since we started the company 25 years ago, one of our top priorities at all times is providing the best support services for dentists," Dr. Judge said. "That's always a priority for us and that's our focus point. We work for the doctors, and we want to make sure we're supporting them in the right way."
Aspen Dental also knows how crucial dental hygienists and dental assistants are to practices. In March, the company partnered with Women Employed and Midwestern Career College to launch a dental assistant training program for low-income women in Chicago. The program is designed to help individuals join the dental workforce in Chicago, Evergreen Park and Oak Lawn, Ill.
The DSO appointed Kimberly (Cameron) Jones as vice president of hygiene operations earlier this year, who shared some of the top ways Aspen supports hygienists.
"We keep our providers educated; we keep them informed on everything to empower them to deliver the best possible care to patients, and grow their skill sets," Ms. Jones told Becker's. "We also put the best technology in their hands. For example, we have the 3D scanners and we have the voice-activated periodontal charting. Because we do this, it gives hygienists the confidence they need to ultimately deliver the best care to our patients."
Providing for its staff and developing a family atmosphere will continue to be top of mind for Aspen Dental, more than 25 years after its founding.
"To hear those doctors call you up and say, 'Thank you for changing my life, thank you for being there for us and thank you for the support you provide,' it is like we still have this family atmosphere at even more than 1,000 offices, which is really beautiful and is really what drives us every day," said Dr. Judge.
