Irvine, Calif.-based Pacific Dental Services expanded its network in 18 states in 2023.
The DSO, which supports nearly 1,000 offices in 24 states, celebrated several milestones achieved last year in a Jan. 29 news release.
Here is some of what the DSO accomplished in 2023:
1. Pacific Dental Services added more than 800 dentists, 700 dental hygienists and 180 specialty dentists to its network.
2. The DSO expanded in 18 states by opening 72 practices, expanding 26 existing practices and adding six medical practices.
3. PDS opened its 950th supported practice in Cottage Grove, Minn.
4. The DSO opened its first co-located dental-medical practice with MemorialCare.
5. The DSO opened two dental-medical integrated practices in Las Vegas.
6. PDS partnered with High Point University to expand the use of Epic within the university's oral health network.
7. The organization invested in RevBio to support the clinical development of bone adhesive biomaterial for implant dentistry.
8. Since integrating Epic across its network, more than 87.8 million patient records have been exchanged between PDS-supported clinicians and other healthcare organizations.
9. PDS administered more than 36,000 salivary diagnostic tests in partnership with OralDNA Labs.
10. The DSO conducted more than 1,100 blood sugar tests as part of a pilot program at 28 of its dental practices.
11. Pacific Dental Services expanded its chairside aMMP-8 biomarker screening pilot program to include additional dental practices.
