The Pacific Dental Services Foundation has given a total of $70,000 to 17 dental assisting students from eight states.
The students are the fall recipients of the Dr. Carolyn Ghazal Dental Assistant Scholarship, according to a Sept. 23 news release from the foundation.
The scholarship is named after Carolyn Ghazal, DDS, a member of the foundation's board of directors. It provides dental assisting students with need-based financial aid, mentorship and on-the-job training.
Since the beginning of 2022, the Pacific Dental Services Foundation has awarded more than $202,000 to 44 dental assisting students in 12 states, according to the news release.
