Aspen Dental, ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers open 1st co-location
Chicago-based Aspen Dental and Greenwood Village, Colo.-based ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers opened their first co-location in Albuquerque, N.M. The facility allows a wider variety of dental specialists to collaborate on-site on patient care.
The two companies are subsidiaries of The Aspen Group, a Chicago-based health and wellness company covering dentistry, urgent care and aesthetics.
Sage Dental 1st DSO in US to offer Japanese company's orthodontic aligners
Boca Raton, Fla.-based Sage Dental became the first U.S. DSO to offer KiyoClear orthodontic aligners by partnering with Japanese manufacturer SheepMedical. The clear aligners will become available at Sage Dental centers this fall.
Sage Dental supports more than 80 affiliated practices in Florida and Georgia.
Heartland Dental supporting Canadian DSO merger: 5 things to know
Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental provided support for a merger of three Canadian dental companies to create the largest DSO in the country. 123Dentist, Altima Dental and Lapointe Group merged under 123Dentist to create a DSO network of nearly 350 practices.
Heartland Dental supported the merger by providing education and training opportunities to 123Dentist's providers and access to Heartland Dental's supplier relationships. It was Heartland Dental's first strategic partnership outside the U.S.
Eye center co-located with Western Dental opens in California
Sonrava Health opened an office housing South Gate, Calif.-based LooksBrite Eye Center and Orange, Calif.-based Western Dental & Orthodontics. The office, located in South Gate, allows patients to get services from both companies in one space.
Sonrava Health is the parent of both companies. It acquired the DSO earlier this month and established the eye company earlier this year.
Pacific Dental Services becomes 1st DSO to offer Epic's EHR system
Irvine, Calif.-based Pacific Dental Services became the first DSO to integrate dental and medical data with Epic's electronic health record system. It first integrated the system in April 2020 and completed the transition in August. This allows providers to access a patient's dental and medical history in one place.
Pacific Dental Services has more than 885 supported practices in 25 states.
