Chicago-based DSO Aspen Dental gave out free dental care to more than 3,000 military veterans and their families during the eighth annual Aspen Dental Day of Service June 11.
More than 2,000 Aspen Dental employees at more than 400 offices participated in the event and provided nearly $1.8 million in dental services, including fillings, extractions and basic denture repairs.
Many veterans struggle with gaining access to dental care and are not eligible for benefits under the Veterans Association unless they meet certain requirements, such as being 100 percent disabled, the DSO said in a June 16 news release.
