Delta Dental Plans Association named James “Wells” Hutchison as its new president and CEO Nov. 2.
Mr. Hutchison, who is succeeding Steven Olson, will begin his new position Dec. 1. He currently serves as the association's general counsel.
During his 15 years working with the Delta Dental system, Mr. Hutchison has fostered critical relationships, rolled out market-focused programs and gained industry expertise across various operating areas.
"Wells has earned the trust and confidence of the board, his peers, and the Delta Dental system over the last 15 years," said Rodney Young, board chair of DDPA and president and CEO of Delta Dental of Minnesota. "His dedication, commitment, and business acumen resulted in his emergence as the best person to lead DDPA. His leadership ability and knowledge of the dental insurance industry will elevate dental’s role in the broader healthcare conversation and improve access to oral healthcare throughout the country."
Mr. Hutchison holds a bachelor's degree from Evanston, Ill.-based Northwestern University and a Juris Doctor from New York City-based New York University School of Law.
