Delta Dental has donated more than $385 million to community COVID-19 relief efforts since the pandemic began, the DSO announced June 16.
The DSO has provided funding for numerous support programs throughout the pandemic to help address the needs and health disparities in communities nationwide. Most donations have gone to safety-net dental practices, local health centers, food banks and nonprofits.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has ignited a new level of national dialogue concerning health care disparities and the urgent need to address these disparities head-on. As the nation's leading dental insurance provider, our priority is to ensure the oral health and safety of the communities in which we live and serve," Steve Olson, the president and CEO of the Delta Dental Plans Association, said in a news release.
