Irvine, Calif.-based Pacific Dental Services plans to roll out Epic at its supported dental practices.
Here are five details:
1. PDS-supported dentists and specialists will be able to coordinate care with other clinicians to close care gaps and reduce duplication.
2. Epic is designed to allow dentists and practices to more easily exchange data for improved continuity of care across the country.
3. The system also allows patients and caregivers more access to their healthcare. Patients will be enabled to communicate with providers, schedule appointments and pay bills online through their portal.
4. The complete Epic instillation is expected to be completed in 2020. PDS is the first dental service organization to implement Epic.
5. PDS supports over 650 affiliated dental offices across the U.S.
