Amazon executive Mark Mitchke was named CEO of Seattle-based Delta Dental of Washington.
Here are four things to know:
1. Mr. Mitchke currently serves as the vice president of marketplace business at Amazon. He has led Amazon Global Fulfillment Services since 2014, which has quadrupled sales for Amazon by enabling hundreds of thousands of small and medium-sized businesses to grow global companies.
2. Prior to joining Amazon in 2013, Mr. Mitchke was a senior partner at McKinsey & Company in Seattle. He has more than 20 years of business leadership experience.
3. Mr. Mitchke will succeed Delta Dental's current CEO Jim Dwyer, effective the end of 2018.
4. Delta Dental of Washington is the state's leading dental insurance carrier, generating more than $1 billion in revenue by serving over 2.8 million primary subscribers and their dependents through a network of more than 4,400 member dentists. DDWA is one of 39 Delta Dental companies which comprise the Delta Dental Plans Association, the largest dental benefit provider in the U.S.
