Dental schools, dental nonprofit organizations and dentists across 10 counties in California received $47.2 million in Specialty Dental Clinic Grant funds.
The funding is to be used for developing and expanding dental operatories and other facilities to provide care to patients with special healthcare needs, according to a March 5 news release from the California Dental Association.
The 13 recipients of the grant received between $2.2 million and $5 million each, and will build and expand more than 120 dental operatories.
The California Dental Association initially proposed the program in 2022, the release said.
